Theories of Difference and Diversity-Free-Samples-Myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about the Theories of Difference and Diversity. Answer: From time immemorial it has been witnessed that females have been subjected to a different attitude altogether in the society. The upsurge that has been due for sometime had finally arrived with the revolutionary protest movements such the #MeToo. The #MeToo movement has been a landmark feminist movement in the recent times and years of pain and silence has been credited for the movement to finally come to the front (Alone 2018). The Women in the society have been suffering from discrepancies in many forms in all spheres of life. From sexual to mental, every aspect of the female life has been harassed by the opposite sex from the beginning of time (Hlavka, 2014). I believe that the struggle that every women has ever went through in life should come to the picture so that the world becomes aware of those. It has been wringly assumed that the women will stay quiet even if they are facing harassment of any kind in life and they will adjust to the situation. The #MeToo movement made it c lear to the audience that women have equal say in the society and everyone who has ever done anything wrong to a woman will be eventually exposed in the public. The voices of the women were not taken seriously and their credibility were doubted, such an approach towards the women made it difficult for them to move ahead in any direction and prosper. The male dominance and the notion of patriarchy in the society had made it difficult for the females to attend growth in any of the industries (Salin and Hoel 2013). It is seen that the discrepancies that took place against the women were accredited to them and they were made responsible for it. Women around the world have had to be in such situations that were not because of their fault but due to the wrong intentions of other people around them. A movement like #MeToo does not arrive in a day and it took years of struggle of the Women of the world to gain enough of strength and endurance to come out and launch such a wide scale protest movement. Previously there was a constant ignorance that was held towards the issues that were raised by the women but with the #MeToo movement it was made sure that the spotlight was right on them and they could open up to the world I believe that a movement like #MeToo was extremely important so as to understand the needs of the female population. The feminists of the society had to be given a stage to stand and deliver their message loud and clear to the world and #MeToo was just the right stage. I support the idea that women and men should be on the same page and equal opportunities should be provided to them. True feminism always has to be supported as they fight for a genuine cause in the world. When I went deeper into the motive of such a movement I came to realise that such a movement had negative implications for the males in the society. The #MeToo movement brought with many name so of males who have been involved wrongly with a woman and has emotionally or physically harassed her. I fail to understand that how any man with any dignity can do such to woman. The need of the hour is to make sure that the men are shown that the old days are gone and now any such act shall be recorded and will be a subject to severe social and judicial punishment. The men who have ever been involved into such practices should be socially ostracized and they should be handed over to the judiciary so that they get punished. I think that with such a movement the feminist revolution in the world will gather momentum and make sure that every woman in the world is a subject to equality. The idea of gender discrimination and gender bias has been something that has blocked the road for women development in the world. The differentiation should never be based on the gender and it has to be seen that the females are never regarded as the weaker sex among the two. #MeToo has empowered women all over the world and it has connected them all through a common motive. Feminism is something that fights for the equal rights of the men, however I detest the idea when certain feminist take the approach of attacking the males to get the power. True feminism is always about equality and never about attacking the opposite s ex pulling the man down to his knees. The issue of equality of the women in the society is something that has to be fought equally by both men and women. It is essential that men involve themselves in making the world a better and safer place for the females (Drury and Kaiser 2014). The idea of discrimination and gendered thought process should completely remove itself from the society and if someone is to be judged then it has to be based on the skills and knowledge of the person and nothing else. Feminism is an idea that is on the rise and is expected to boom in full glory in the upcoming years. People must understand that such movements like #MeToo brings with it a lot of underlying social messages that have been unsaid for long. The #MeToo movement shows that the women were suffering but it was all a bit too much ignored and the entire sex was being started to be taken as for granted. The people of the world must have an open attitude and females are to be given equal opportunity so that the world moves towards a bet ter and bright future.
